Uno studio pubblicato sulla rivista scientifica Science Advances ci mette in guardia dal pericolo concreto che il 60% delle piante selvatiche di caffè possano estinguersi in un futuro non troppo lontano.
Le cause sarebbero da individuarsi in un mix prodotto da cambiamenti climatici, deforestazione, parassiti e la ridotta biodiversità, la quale mette a rischio anche le piantagioni commerciali.
In pochi decenni rischiamo di perdere 75 specie e dunque varietà di caffè su 124! Un pericolo che dovrebbe colpire ed allarmare non soltanto gli amanti del caffè, ma tutte le persone che – come noi di Sellmat – hanno a cuore l’ambiente e si spendono per rispettarlo e preservarlo.
